  • One of the joys of tropical living is the element of choice. When you feel you’ve had enough time in the sun, move to the indoor living room, where you can kick back in air-conditioned comfort and watch a blockbuster movie on the Smart TV, guilt-free, because you’re on holiday.

  • The villa is filled with decorative Indonesian handicrafts and artefacts. If there is anything that inspires you, visit the classy homeware stores and cluttered junkshops of Kerobokan, where you’ll almost certainly find some pieces to purchase and take home.

  • After exploring the neighbourhood, return to the villa and dive into the cooling waters of the pool, practice swimming laps alongside a wall of tropical heliconia, order some lunch, flop on a sunbed for an afternoon snooze and soak up the sunshine.

  • Alfresco dining is the best way to enjoy a meal in the tropics. Be sure, on at least one occasion, to gather at the villa’s poolside table with your loved ones to feast by candlelight. Relish local delights, prepared and served by your own private chef (extra charge).

  • You’ll be fascinated by the locally sourced objets d’ art, ranging from a lumination of lanterns and a pair of Javanese shadow puppet images to a colourful collection of paintings by Balinese artists, as well as Indonesian-crafted furniture including asymmetrical suar-wood tables.

  • The centrepiece of the villa is its sparkling 15-metre pool, very private and surrounded by lush greenery. During the heat of the day, lie back on a sunlounger, slip into the cooling waters, swim, splash, or float on your back, cocooned by lush greenery and elegant architecture.

Loloan Yeh Poh

Just 250 metres from Canggu Beachside Villas, at Kayu Putih Beach, you’ll find Loloan Yeh Poh, which in Balinese means means “where the river meets”. It’s a lagoon at the estuary of a river and at high tide, it looks like a lake. The beach got its name from the Pura Kayu Putih, the holy temple nearby.

Sangeh Monkey Forest

The cool, dark and mysterious Sangeh Monkey Forest (25km from the estate) is home to about 700 long tailed macaques and 2000 straight-trunked ‘Palahlar’ trees, soaring up to 60 metres.  It’s believed that the forest is more than three centuries old. There are four temples here, including the moss-covered Pura Bukit Sari in the heart of the forest.

Bali Bird Park

Head to Bali Bird Park (20 km from Canggu Beachside Villas) and follow the paved paths leading through 2 hectares of landscaped gardens where more than 1,000 specimens of over 250 exotic bird species live in well-designed aviaries. The park is dedicated to the protection of mostly Indonesian birds, including the beautiful but critically endangered jalak putih (white Bali starlings).

  • Tennis

    Thrash your opponent at Liga. This high-end tennis & sports centre is located 2.5 km from Canggu Beachside Villas on Jl. Bumbak Dauh. The centre presents 5 professional ITF-standard tennis courts, 3 paddle courts, a squash court and a basketball court. Avoid the heat of the day by playing in the early morning or late afternoon.

  • Yoga

    Whether you’re a hard-core Yogi or a traveller on a voyage of self-discovery, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for practicing yoga in Canggu and Berawa. Desa Seni (600m from Canggu Beachside Villas) offers daily classes for all levels in beautiful surroundings. Alternatively check out Radiantly Alive in Canggu (3.2km), which focuses on power, flow, Kriya, and Yin yoga.

  • Surfing

    Bali’s legendary breaks attract surfers from all over the world and Canggu is a great place to start. Here, fully-licensed surf instructors will tweak up your surfing skills or teach you from scratch. Villa Vida and Boa are manned by staff constantly asking how to serve you or better. Traffic to the location is typical of Bali so budget time for road congestion. The villas are comfortable and the pools are lovely. The chef has a wide menu and cook local and international food.
